Remember When . . .

....we said that we planted a garden? Well, here are the fruits of our labor. Ok, MATT'S labor. He did much more of the work than me! All that work and all we got out of it are some wildly deformed carrots. Matt's holding the biggest and most normal shaped carrot. I guess we should be thankful that we got something at all! We stopped weeding and watering about 3 months ago and had pretty much handed it over to the deer. The deer were so generous as to leave us some veggies... probably because they couldn't get to them!

Halloween afternoon and evening we spent outside, since the weather was so beautiful. We rode our bikes down to the arboretum to walk through the trees. I sure am feeling bad about all the complaining I did last summer when the weather was hot and humid - this fall has been just beautiful and the leaves are gorgeous! Here are a few pictures of the fall colors at the arboretum and around town.

We did get 4 trick-or-treaters, which is 4 more than last year!
On another note, our flag football team won the championship game today (Sunday)! We've been playing every Sunday afternoon for the past 2 1/2 months. Our season is getting done just before the weather turns chilly.
Both of us have Veteran's Day off this week, so we're looking forward to a free day together. Our plan was to go out camping on Monday night, but there's a 80% chance for rain on Monday night, so we're not going. Bummer! We didn't get out camping at all this fall!
We're looking forward to a few things this month - a soon-to-be-born new nephew, family coming down for Thanksgiving, deer and duck hunting. As usual, God keeps blessing us (though we definitely don't deserve it) and we keep taking it for granted. We're loving Jesus, loving each other, healthy, and have a warm place to sleep at night. That should be enough! God has just been sooooo good to us the past year and we are so thankful!
