The pictures pretty much speak for themselves! We were in Minnesota from 12/22-1/1 and really spent some quality time with our families. It's nice to know that wherever Matt and I are living, we'll always make our way back home for the holidays.
The Rustand Christmas was a fun day filled with the annual Rustand traditions. Starting with Christmas brunch (Christmas-tree shaped sweet rolls!), we spent the day talking and playing! Hannah and Grace are singing Jingle Bells in one of the pictures - fun! Matt and I rocked out on Hark the Herald Angels Sing. (We practiced on the 16-hour car ride from IL to MN! We had an encore song ready, just in case our fans wanted more.) As you can see, there will be a new addition to the Rustand family next year. No, not the ham - Craig and Katie's baby. But the ham WAS delicious. (Go Jean!)
The next set of pictures are of the Legge Christmas. We also had a new addition this year - the Wii! (Gotcha!) Jason and Kathy got it for their wedding and were kind enough to bring it home to play. Even little Drew got in on the action! He was Wii bowling right along with us, only with the tv remote instead of the Wii controllers. Hilarious! The ping-pong tourney was a total uproar - I did much better than planned and Matt really tanked. Jason ended up taking the whole thing. Nothing says "welcome to the family" like a Christmas Ping Pong Championship! We all ended up winning at least one game throughout the day. Mom always does such a good job organizing a game-filled, action-packed day! (Thanks Mom and Dad!)
The best part about Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus. Not the "Paralyzer" duck call Matt received or our new Cranium game. Not the Christmas cookies, fudge, and lefsa. Not fancy dresses and curled hair. Not even family time (but it is pretty special). But the most important part about Christmas is that Jesus came as a tiny baby. And Jesus offers the best gift of all - eternal life in heaven if we accept Him and have a personal relationship with Him. Jesus shows us love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, and truth. What better gift is there?
