Apparently the lack of mountains in Illinois has a direct affect on our blog. We have done a terrible job of updating the site lately and we haven't even expanded on our Alaska trip pictures. Oops. Well, before you start thinking that we haven't done a THING since we moved to Carbondale, let me give you a "top ten" list of our fall activities.
10. Refreshed our racquetball skills - mine (Julie's) were very rusty. Wait - they still are!
9. Hiked (ok, walked) through Shawnee National Forest on a beautiful blue-sky fall day. (Matt was scouting for deer hunting.)
8. Attended the fall conference at our church.
7. Dressed up and went to a costume party at Curtis and Destiny's. Guess what we went as?! Backpackers!!!
6. Saw Little Shop of Horrors at a community theater in Herrin, IL. (One of my piano students was in the show.)
5. Dined with friends, either at home or at fun restaurants.
4. Enjoyed the fall colors with frequent walks around Campus Lake.
3. Started drinking coffee... I guess it goes with going back to school. (I almost made it though my master's degree without becoming a coffee addict and then I got sucked in to the wonderfulness of it all! So close!)
2. Getting things organized for Matt to go out hunting this fall, something that he hasn't done in a while. Because of our moves and other factors, Matt had (temporarily) halted his hunting. I'm actually excited for Matt to get out and hunt!
1. The number one thing that we did this fall was.... fly back to Minnesota for Jason and Kathy's wedding! It was a beautiful wedding and such a great time with family. Kathy was a gorgeous bride and was nothing like a bridezilla, even though we teased her about it. I'm pretty sure Jason never stopped smiling throughout the entire day! My personal favorite part about Kathy and Jason getting married? Even teams for family games! ;) After such an incredible weekend, it was exceptionally hard to board the plane and come back to Illinois.

Clearly we haven't been sitting around with nothing to do, but our activities are just different now. We'll post pictures when we remember to take some! Hope you had a great fall and we'll probably be seeing most of you over Christmas break!
